Moving USDT into OKX from an Australian Exchange: Picking the Network
A practical guide for Australians sending USDT to OKX from a local exchange or wallet: matching networks on both sides, handling address formats, and confirming arrival safely.
OKX | Australia | AUD | fees, access and account safety
Plenty of Australians buy USDT on a local platform that accepts PayID or bank transfer, then move it to OKX for a wider range of markets. The transfer itself takes a few minutes. The part that goes wrong is the network. USDT exists on several blockchains, and OKX gives each of them its own deposit address. Send on one chain to an address generated for another and the funds may not arrive where you expect. Here is a calm, repeatable way to line both ends up.
Find out what the sending platform supports
Start on the platform you are sending from, not on OKX. Open its withdrawal screen for USDT and write down the networks it offers. Some local exchanges only support one or two chains, and that list decides your options. Note whether it shows a withdrawal cost per network, because that cost is set by the sender and can differ noticeably between chains. Check it on that screen each time rather than relying on what it was last month.
Generate the matching address on OKX
In the OKX app go to Assets, tap Deposit, search for USDT and select the network that also appears on your sending platform's list. OKX then displays the deposit address and, under it, the minimum deposit and the number of confirmations required before the balance is credited. Copy the address with the copy button rather than typing it. If the two platforms label the same chain differently, compare the token standard shown on each, which usually makes the match obvious.
Send a small amount first
Paste the address into the sending platform, select the identical network and send a small test amount. Watch Assets, then the deposit history on OKX, until the status changes to completed. Most sending platforms display a transaction hash; paste it into the block explorer for that chain if you want to see the confirmations climbing. When the test lands, repeat the transfer for the remaining balance using the same address and network.
When the deposit does not show up
Wait for the confirmation count OKX listed, then check whether the network you sent on matches the one used to generate the address. OKX has a self-service option for unrecognised deposits in the deposit section; enter the hash there. If that does not resolve it, open a chat in the help centre and include the hash, the network name and screenshots from both platforms.

Scenario checkpoint
- List the USDT networks your sending platform offers before opening the OKX deposit screen.
- Select the same network on OKX and copy the address using the copy button, not by typing.
- Read the minimum deposit and required confirmations shown under the OKX deposit address.
- Send a small test transfer and wait for completed status before moving the main balance.
